Again 4th with FordGt in ADAC

For Nico Verdonck and the Lambda Performance Ford GT, the second weekend of the ADAC GT Masters was similar to the first weekend. After taking a wonderful fourth place during the first race on Saturday, he was unable to finish race2 as a result of a crash by his teammate Krohn.

The first race on Saturday was excellent. Jesse Krohn and his Ford GT finished brilliantly in first place. The young Finn came in halfway during the race, and passed the wheel to Nico. Unfortunately, the team was down on luck and couldn’t get their radio system to work straight away, losing 15 seconds in the pit. The Lambda Ford GT returned to the track in 6th place.

Nico: “I had a good feeling as soon as I got in the car. I drove the car to a wonderful 4th place but there is still some room for improvement in the Ford, which could particularly pay off during the qualifications. We are happy with fourth place, but also somewhat disappointed, knowing that it could have been us up there on the podium!”

Race 2 ended in disappointment. Nico Verdonck drove a good round but his second gear gave way fairly early on in the race and he had trouble accelarating in the slow bends. Nico passed the wheel on to Jesse in ninth position.

Unfortunately, the joy was short-lived after Krohn misjudged a slower participant and slipped up. The Ford GT crashed into the wall of tyres at high speed and the damage was irreversible. Surrender in race 2.
