Nico Verdonck to compete in Blancpain Endurance Series with McLaren!

26-year old Nico Verdonck from Brussels will definitely remain in the spotlights in the world of car racing in 2012. Together with his team Gionion Boutsen, Verdonck will strive to fulfil his ambition of winning the Blancpain Endurance Series and the associated 24-hours of Spa. A brand new McLaren MP4-12C will help him to achieve that goal.

After completing a successful season ranking in the top 10 of the Blancpain championships, Nico hopes to top his achievement this year. With his ultra-fast and impressive looking British super sports car - the McLaren MP4-12C - he certainly has a powerful weapon at hand.

Verdonck’s teammates are the Brit Jack Clarke and fellow countryman, Edouard Mondron. Together with the team of former F1 Grand Prix winner Thierry Boutsen, this promises to be a winning combination.

The highlight of this season undoubtedly will be the 24-hours of Spa-Francorchamps, a true phenomenon with the best racing car drivers in the world, which is to take place in the Belgian Ardennes.

Besides the Blancpain Endurance Series, Nico will be participating in the German GT championship and he is also scheduled to compete in the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring.

“I am very happy to be able to announce the above program. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in advance who has made it possible for me to get behind the wheel again at Monza on April 14. We have carefully prepared for this season during the past winter and are more than ready to go!”
