Nico Verdonck official Hyundai driver at the Nürburgring

Over the years he has become one of the references on the renowned Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. His performances on the legendary Eifel circuit did not go unnoticed and as he is about to tackle the track in VLN2 as an official works driver.
The Brussels based driver will integrate into the Hyundai Motorsport ranks to drive the brand-new Hyundai Veloster N TCR. “I’m truly honoured that Hyundai called upon me for the make’s important project”, a smiling Nico commented. “Proof that my performances over these last few years have been recognised in the paddock. The context will be extremely professional! The battle between the touring cars in the TCR class, which is generally one of the most filled, will be splendid and it is important for the manufacturers to differentiate themselves. Especially true for Hyundai with this new Veloster N TCR, which is joining the i30 N TCR in their range, which Gabriele Tarquini won the FIA World Touring Car Cup with. The objective will be both to participate in the development of this newcomer as also to demonstrate its full potential. “
In joining the Hyundai Motorsport team for this weekend’s race Nico Verdonck adds to the manufacturer’s preparations for the 24 Hour of the Nürburgring, held on the 22nd and 23rd June. “We will use this weekend to work towards the longer races later in the year. I’m looking forward to working with the team and my teammate for the race, Moritz Oestreich. The situation is ideal and quite clearly the objective will be to aim for victory in our category! “
